Not argue that. I dont agree this is one of those times but some think it is. However,

It is absolutly sickening that we have millions of Americans sitting around watching this like its a damn movie. Millions of Americans have been anxiously waiting for the movie, err I mean war to start. And you wonder why the world hates us. This is pathetic that its on every network. We all know what is going on, but that isnt enough. We have to sit in the safety of our homes with our potato chips and cokes watching it. It is no wonder al queda wants to kill us all. I am an American, and you MAKE ME SICK. Put the regualr programs back on and let these sickos get a life. These sickos are getting off on this shit.

H.L. Mencken: wrote some good shit but was an unending, bitter cynic to his death. That quote reveals a lot more about his character than any truth in his statement.

In his cynicism he was correct, however. Most men with the intelligence to know the truth DO become cynics.
This is no reason to disregard their input. If it were, Ignorance being Bliss wouldn't have such a negative ring to it.

Ignorance is curable with knowledge; Stupid is forever.

Obtaining "knowledge" from the CNN's of the world will still keep you stupid however.

I'm sure with the acidic volume of bitterness that Mencken brewed during his lifetime, something was bound to be true - but he was a lonely, bitter man, and found targets of opportunity for the sport of it.

Clemens was different - sarcastic, yes, but not bitter, and a lot more insightful into the human condition than Mencken ever was, who was a mocker.
